The homeowners had already invested in a patio and plantings years earlier, but quickly realized their yard had far greater potential. With two young daughters and a love for outdoor entertaining, they wanted to create an environment that worked for every family member—without losing the beauty of what was already in place.
Their vision? A pool with a spa, shaded pavilion, AstroTurf play zones, upgraded patio, and improved privacy—all tied together in a way that felt seamless and natural.
Client Goals: What the Family Wanted
The family came to Land Design Associates with a clear set of goals:

2. Pool Pavilion
A shaded pavilion anchors the pool area, housing a refrigerator, toy storage, and space for a mounted TV—ideal for Sunday games or family movie nights. This structure offers both functionality and comfort, blending style with purpose.
3. Play & Recreation Zones
Inside the pool enclosure, a durable AstroTurf play area gives the daughters a safe and mud-free surface for daily activities. To balance fun for adults, we installed a matching AstroTurf putting green, offering both personal recreation and a spot for potential community lessons.
4. Safety-First Design
The pool area was fenced separately from the rest of the yard, ensuring the children could safely enjoy their new woodland playset on the other side of the property without concern.
5. Patio & Deck Enhancements
The family’s existing patio was carefully preserved but upgraded with a built-in grill island, extending the outdoor kitchen and dining potential. Their deck was refreshed, creating a sleek landing that tied visually into the new hardscape.
6. Privacy & Cohesion
Strategic screening plantings were added along property edges, creating a private retreat. Materials were carefully chosen to match existing stonework and decking for a seamless transition.
